Not too long ago, the idea of Prince William and Kate Middleton having a friendly meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed not only unlikely but also impossible.
With the shocking claims and the no-holds-barred way Harry and Meghan have approached damaging the reputation of the British Royal Family, it’s no wonder that two top members of the monarchy have kept their distance from the Sussexes.
Reports from last year indicated that Will and Kate were not interested in meeting Harry and Meghan if they came to visit the UK. This was despite rumors suggesting King Charles wanted to bring Harry back into family life to spend more time with his grandkids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Since this year began, a lot has changed in royal news, including both Charles and Kate receiving cancer diagnoses.
The Princess of Wales almost vanished from public view, with details about their treatments being kept quiet.
However, if recent reports are correct, Prince William and Kate Middleton might now be open to discussing a possible reconciliation with Harry and Meghan. An anonymous source told Us Weekly that Will & Kate want to mend things for their three kids.
“They want a relationship with Meghan & Harry because they don’t want any bad feelings affecting their children,” said the source according to New York Post.
“Clearly, Duke & Duchess wish for their kids to bond with their cousins.”
Since Harry & Meghan have lived in Montecito, California for several years now, it’s likely that Archie & Lilibet haven’t spent much time with cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte & Prince Louis.
While it’s normal for parents to encourage good relationships between cousins there are still obstacles ahead; mainly ongoing tensions between William & Kate on one side and Harry & Meghan on another.
Whether they can truly move past everything remains uncertain but many royal reports suggest that William & Kate feel they can’t trust Sussexes after all that’s happened.
So we wouldn’t expect any royal reunion unless something big changes soon. But I guess saying never say never is as good as anything else!
