A source close to Angelina Jolie has claimed the actor is hopeful Brad Pitt will stop ‘attacking’ her now they have reached a settlement in their years-long divorce proceedings.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott J. Nord approved the settlement on December 31, 2024, one day after both Jolie and Pitt signed off on it and more than eight years after Jolie first filed for divorce in 2016.
The couple had been dating for 12 years and married for two when they split, with Jolie citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. In the settlement, the couple have given up the right to any future spousal financial support, the Associated Press reports.

Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, has said she is ‘exhausted’ from the proceedings, which dragged on due to custody battles, disputes over Jolie’s stake in a French winery, and claims made about a 2016 incident on board a private jet.
He added that she is now ‘relieved this one part is over’.
With the settlement reached, a source close to Jolie spoke to PEOPLE about the actor’s hopes to move forward.
They claimed: “Brad has successfully used his power and his privilege to cover up his conduct at his family’s expense, to punish Angelina for leaving, and even to attempt to paint her as the reason why his relationship is so challenging with the children.
“Angelina hopes the finalization of their divorce will enable him to move on, stop attacking her, and instead help heal their family.”
However, a source close to Pitt hit back by telling the publisher that Jolie has been involved in ‘one-sided attacks for the past eight years’.

The source claimed these ‘attacks’ included a ‘never-ending distortion of facts and projecting their own behavior onto others, causing tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family’.
A source close to Pitt also told PEOPLE that the battle over the French winery – in which Jolie was accused of breaching an agreement when she sold her half – was a ‘perfect example’ of one of Jolie’s ‘attacks’.
“Brad built an extraordinary, increasingly valuable business and she chose to deliberately disregard their agreement, and instead of completing negotiations for him to buy her out and keeping Miraval fully in the family and ending the battles, she instead chose to sell to a total stranger not aligned with the company’s vision so she could take the money for herself and punish him,” the source claimed.

Jennifer Aniston’s ‘plans’ for next meeting with Brad Pitt revealed after split from Angelina Jolie
It’s been 20 years since Aniston and Pitt went through their own divorce

A source close to Jennifer Aniston has described how the Friends star will allegedly interact with her former husband Brad Pitt following his divorce settlement with Angelina Jolie.
Pitt and Jolie reached a settlement in their divorce on December 30, 2024, eight years after Jolie initially filed for divorce in September 2016.
At the time, Jolie cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ and requested that she be given full custody of the couple’s six children, who were between the ages of eight and 15 at the time.
Over the years, the proceedings dragged on due to a custody trial, a legal battle relating to Jolie’s stake in a French winery the couple previously co-owned, and claims made about a 2016 incident on board a private jet.

When the couple reached a settlement at the end of 2024, Jolie’s lawyer told CNN: “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
The divorce marks the end of Pitt’s second marriage following his first to Aniston, who he split up with in 2005 shortly before he began dating Jolie.
A source claiming to have knowledge about Aniston’s feelings on the matter has now told the Mail Online that the Morning Show actor ‘isn’t looking to talk about Brad and Angelina’s divorce publicly’, and apparently the same can be said for private interactions.
“Nor is she looking to reach out to Brad and offer any congratulations,’ the source continued.

Since Aniston and Pitt run in similar circles as Hollywood A-listers, the source acknowledged they are likely to meet at industry events and shared claims about Aniston’s plans for their next encounter.
“The next time they see each other, they’ll be cordial with each other, they have been in the recent past and that won’t change,” they said.
“They will talk about life and mostly anything else, but they aren’t going to dive into his feelings about the divorce or anything like that. Angelina is not a talking point between them and that will remain the same forever.”
The source went on to claim that Aniston is ‘friendly’ with Pitt, alleging they have ‘settled’ any issues between them and ‘will never stop being respectful with each other’.
“Jen would love Brad to be happy first and foremost, and believes he is happy,” they said.

Brad Pitt slams ex wife Angelina Jolie over ‘intrusive’ demands in ongoing $350 million court battle
The actor believes his ex-wife is asking for evidence that has nothing to do with their current case

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s hefty court battle continues, as Pitt slams his ex-wife for making ‘intrusive’ requests he believes have nothing to do with their case.
The latest claims come after Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 for selling off her stake in the former couple’s French winery, Chateau Miraval, to Stoli, a company owned by a Russian oligarch, without his consent. Pitt alleged that they planned to pass down the business to their children.
Pitt further accused Stoli of a hostile takeover and sued to reverse Jolie’s stock sale. Jolie denied any wrongdoing and claimed that she was not obligated to seek out Pitt’s approval of the sale.

In a $350 million countersuit, Stoli accused Pitt of misusing company assets, which he denied.
As both court cases ensue, recent developments see Pitt accusing his ex-wife of ‘wide ranging and intrusive’ demands during their ongoing $350 million dispute.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Pitt is accusing Jolie’s side of making 54 requests for documents from him that he believes are unrelated to the current corporate case at hand.
According to In Touch, Jolie is requesting Pitt turn over all private communication he had with his friends and business partners regarding a 2016 altercation the former couple had on a private jet. She also asked for any communication he had with the FBI regarding the matter.
Pitt and Jolie famously got divorced in 2016 shortly after Pitt was allegedly physically abusive to Jolie and their kids on a private plane. The incident was investigated by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI, but no criminal charges were made against Pitt.

The actor’s lawyer at the time addressed Jolie’s accusation that he got physical with her and their children saying: “Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one — unlike the other side but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do. He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation.”
In this new motion, Pitt’s lawyer criticized Jolie’s request for his private chats, describing them as ‘unnecessary motion practice’ and a vehicle for ‘another public filing rife with personal attacks.’
He continued: “These private, third-party communications are far removed from the issues and allegations in this case, and in many cases, they have nothing but the most tenuous relationship to ‘what happened on that plane.’
“Jolie, however, wants them anyway as part of her efforts to turn this business dispute into a re-litigation of the former couple’s divorce case.”

Angelina Jolie accuses Brad Pitt of trying to ‘bleed her dry’ amid ongoing legal battle
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt separated in 2016, but are still embroiled in a dispute over a French winery
Callum Jones
While they may have separated in 2016, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt remain at loggerheads.
The former couple have been locked into an ongoing legal battle over the sale of a French winery they purchased when they were together.
New papers were submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month and they contained some bombshell claims.
A lot of it has detailed alleged abuse by Pitt, something the actor has categorically denied.
In recents weeks, we’ve seen Jolie accuse her former partner of ‘unrelenting efforts to control’.
And now, the actress has made headlines once more as she accuses Pitt of trying to ‘bleed her dry’.

In newly filed court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Jolie claims: “It is extremely painful for Jolie to have to defend herself from Pitt’s lawsuit – itself another example of Pitt’s unrelenting efforts to control and financially drain her – especially because Pitt’s false allegations as to the reasons the Miraval deal cratered can only proven by doing exactly what Jolie never wanted to do: Provide to the trier of fact the reason the Miraval deal failed, which was Pitt’s demand for an NDA to cover up his history of physical and emotional abuse of Jolie and their family.”
A source familiar with the situation added: “Angie says Brad is bleeding her dry – but it looks like she wants to bleed him dry.
“Far from being out to ruin his ex, it looks like Brad has bent over backwards to support Angie and help her out financially in spite of her appearing to be so vindictive.”
The Daily Mail adds that Jolie’s relationship with Pitt has helped enrich her by close to a whopping $100 million.
The paper reports that this money has come through loans, child support and gifts.

And as the winery dispute continues, Jolie’s lawyers have since filed new documents claiming Pitt abused Jolie.
A copy of the motion was obtained by CNN which reports the documents claim: “While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”
The papers didn’t reveal specifics on the alleged abuse, although they state Jolie will ‘prove through testimony, emails, photographs, and other evidence why Pitt was so concerned about his own misconduct that he blew up his own deal to purchase Jolie’s interest in Miraval because she refused to agree to his new, expansive NDA’.

Brad Pitt made confession to Jennifer Aniston about Angelina Jolie before their divorce
Brad Pitt was married to Friends actor Jennifer Aniston for five years
Niamh Shackleton
Almost 20 years on from Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s divorce, and many people still aren’t over it.
The two Hollywood powerhouses wed in 2000 before calling time on their marriage in 2005.
A statement released by the pair in January 2005 announcing the news of their separation read: “We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate.
“For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media.”
It went on: “This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another.”
The speculation mentioned in the statement was in reference to Pitt‘s rumored romance with his Mr & Mrs Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie.
It was believed that the Ocean’s 11 actor had left Aniston for Jolie.
While they denied this, the pair did go on to date and were in a relationship for over a decade until their divorce in 2019.
Tomb Raider star Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, just two years after she and Pitt tied the knot.
But prior to their romance beginning, apparently Pitt had been honest with then-wife Aniston about being attracted to Jolie.

Aniston’s pal and Friends co-star Courteney Cox previously revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair: “I don’t think he started an affair physically, but I think he was attracted to her.
“There was a connection, and he was honest about that with Jen. Most of the time, when people are attracted to other people, they don’t tell.”
Cox added: “At least he was honest about it. It was an attraction that he fought for a period of time.”
Aniston had reportedly been going through a difficult time after Friends finished its ten season run in 2004, and according to insiders, Pitt – who busy filming with Jolie – ‘just wasn’t there for her’.

An insider told People at the time: “They gradually lost sight of themselves as individuals.
“And despite their nice lifestyle and having everything they might want, they weren’t happy. They lost a sense of self.”
While their marriage ended, it seems as if Aniston and Pitt have always remained on good terms.
In fact, at the 2020 SAG Awards the pair sent the internet into a frenzy when they were seen sharing a sweet moment together after Pitt won an award for his role in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
