Man left with swollen head following hair transplant shows off results

A man fought back against his baldness by having a hair transplant, but the immediate results weren’t what he was expecting.

There are many things in life that can dent a man’s confidence, and slowly watching that hairline recede is certainly up there.

When this happens, people tend to react differently.

Some men will try the old comb over, others will brave the shave and get rid of it all, but there are a few who fork out for hair transplants.

What was once considered quite bizarre is now fairly commonplace, and if it gives someone their confidence back, then it should be celebrated.

However, there are some instances when things can get a bit… weird.

Kanah Flex, a London-based dancer and artist, shared his hair transplant experience on TikTok, documenting the journey and its unexpected aftermath.

Kanah underwent the surgical procedure on Thursday, January 16, at a clinic in Wembley, London. According to the dancer, the facility has previously catered to celebrities seeking similar treatments.

After his transplant, he took to social media to update his followers, but instead of compliments, the comment section was rife with playful jabs.

Some likened Kanah to Will Ferrell’s Megamind, while others compared his appearance to Roger from American Dad and Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants.

Kanah embraced the comparisons, even poking fun at himself.

“I know I’m looking crazy, but trust the process,” he assured viewers. “Right now, I’m looking like an alien.”

Two days after his transplant, Kanah shared more about the procedure.

“For anyone that’s gonna ask, no – I did not go to Turkey to get my hair done,” he clarified. “I got my hair done in Wembley, to be exact. Kenton, Harrow.”

Arriving at the clinic early in the morning, Kanah had a consultation to finalize the procedure, which focused on restoring his crown – the topmost area of his scalp.

Hair follicles were harvested from the back of his head, known as the donor area, and implanted into the crown.

“I got 4,000 grafts done, so that means 8,000 hairs have been implanted into my head,” he explained. Kanah opted not to lower his hairline to avoid thinning the density of hair at the top.

Before the surgery began, Kanah received a buzz cut – a first for him – and then underwent anesthesia injections.

“I could just feel my head swelling, like a balloon,” he said. “After a while, I stopped feeling it.”

Post-surgery, Kanah has been wearing a headband to manage swelling, which is standard practice.

The swelling, however, migrated to his face and eyes, prompting Kanah to say: “I look like I just did ten rounds with Mike Tyson.”

In an update on January 19, Kanah noted that the swelling was beginning to subside. Despite the unexpected side effects, he remains optimistic and in good spirits.
