The Duchess is upset about what’s been going on in American politics lately. In the most recent U.S. elections, Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris and became President of the United States. Meghan Markle was very upset by this news because she really wanted Kamala to win the race. After the election, a royal commentator said Meghan might be thinking about leaving the U.S. because of the results.
Four years ago, Meghan and Harry were much more outspoken about their political views. This time, they chose to keep quiet about it. Instead, they focused on getting people to vote without directly supporting any political candidate.
Harry and Megan met in 2016 and married in 2018. They stepped down as senior royals in January 2020 and have since been living in Montecito, California. Harry shared that living in the US has allowed them to engage in activities and experiences along with their children, without the royal protocols guarding their every move.
Harry further said lack of royal duties has enabled him to focus on being a good father and husband. He said, “I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here.” One of the primary reasons for their decision to stay in the US is the sense of safety and privacy they experience there, which is harder to come by in the UK due to media scrutiny and security concerns.
Additionally, Harry has been involved in legal battles to restore his UK security detail, which he believes is essential for the safety of his family. Despite losing the initial case, he remains committed to the cause. Harry, referring to the media attention, said, “It’s still dangerous…Whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, these are things that are of genuine concern for me.”
Harry also addressed the rumours about his marriage, at the summit. He said, “Apparently we’ve bought or moved houses 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” He dismissed the rumours and called them nothing more than “trolls.”
Currently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are pursuing their individual passions and projects. Prince Harry is deeply involved in philanthropic efforts, attending events like the Invictus Games and supporting charities such as Sentebale and WellChild. Meanwhile, Meghan is focusing on entrepreneurial ventures, including the upcoming launch of her American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand and a new Netflix show. Despite their separate engagements, they continue to collaborate on their Archewell Foundation, which recently raised a record-breaking $5.4 million for various charitable initiatives.
